Waterline - Commission (2008) ...

In Spring 2008, The Mill commissioned Savanna, the noted Somerset World Fusion ensemble, to write a 10 track CD of music to reflect The Mill experience - its atmosphere & surroundings ... "We're absolutely delighted" - it's destined to be a classic.

Chromatica - Commission (2005) ...

Chromatica is the latest CD from Savanna. The concept for this album came from an idea given to us by Nori & Sandra Pope of Hadspen Garden in Somerset. These original compositions are intended to reflect the colour coded planting that has made Hadspen world famous. As the colour in the garden changes so does its rhythm and intensity. We have tried, with Chromatica, to interpret that subtlety & energy in the medium of music & capture the essence of colour.

Marinas Dreaming - Studio (1998) ...

Savanna was formed in 1996 when fretless bass player, Ted Brewster, and drummer/percussionist, Ebou Sanyang, joined the band. Ted, having played with musicians such as Barbara Thompson, John Hiesman, Andy Sheppard and Andy Summers, accentuated the existing jazz undertones adding a unique free-flowing sound to the music. Ebou, a Gambian master drummer and percussionist, having experienced working both in Britain and Africa with artists such as Youssou N'Dour, Baba Maal and Ali Farka Toure, brought his complex African rhythms to the pieces transforming the original music and emphasising the rhythmic nature.
With additional help from Pete Gage of Dr. Feelgood, who collaborated on “Marinas Dreaming” from the outset, adding his jazz/blues piano and keyboards and Ed Wynn of Ozric Tentacles, with his sensitive keyboard playing, Savanna created a new kind of Acoustic fusion.
